This particular M5 is number 127 of only 187 examples produced in right hand drive, it has a comprehensive history file and was serviced by BMW main dealers as recently as 2005. There are BMW main dealer service bills from 1999-2005 totalling £6,835.50, plus many other invoices and receipts. There are also many old MOT certificates, tax discs and SORN declerations.

A beautiful, low mileage E28 M5 in fantastic condition and in a very attractive colour combination.

Here is a car that truely belies its mileage. It has covered 171,000 miles but looks and drives like a car that has covered less than 71,000 miles. The bodywork is unblemished and the interior like new, even the drivers seat has no wear and is still as firm as the day it left the factory, original 16" x-spoke wheels are free of any kerbing marks and are shod with matching Avon tyres all round.

The service history is full and comprehensive and includes the original service history booklet and a ream of paperwork 2" thick, it was supplied new by Woolaston Motors of Northampton on 24th October 1986 and is number 35 of only 187 right hand drive examples produced. A copy of the original invoice is present, the original cost when new was £33,549.50. Woolaston Motors were used for servicing duties the first 10 years and there are no fewer than 16 stamps. From there onward the car has been serviced by various BMW main dealers and service specialists.

E28 M5 Hartge Spec  1987E  lachs silver, black leather, air conditioning, electric sunroof, M-Tec bodystyling, shadowline dechroming, rear blind, central locking, rear headrests, 17" BMW X-spoke polished rim alloys wheel with nogaro silver painted centres, Nakamichi stereo package fitted in period by Birds Hartge agent.

This terriffic M5 was sold new by L&C of Tunbridge Wells and was maintained by them on schedule up until 1991. However it is after this periond when things got really interesting. In the early 90's the original owner toyed with the idea of changing the car for a current E34 M5, but instead decided to upgrade his beloved E28. Martek Motorsport were chosen to carry out the work and it was decided that Hartge components would be used for the modifications. The list of work carried out is staggering. The engine was completely rebuilt with oversized pistons and a fully balanced bottom end including clutch and flywheel. The cylinder head was overhauled with new valves and guides, ports were opened and new Hartge camshafts fitted. A Hartge ECU was fitted which raised the rev limit to 7,500 RPM. A Hartge exhaust was fitted and a complete Hartge suspension package was fitted with Hartge/Bilstein dampers, springs, strut brace, anti-roll bars and negative camber top mounts. It doesn't end there though as cosmetically the car was also upgraded, carrying on with the Hartge theme a Hartge steering wheel, gear knob and foot rest were fitted along with Hartge instruments to complete the interior. Externally a Hartge rear boot spoier was fitted in place of the standard M-Tec item.

In more recent years further sympathetic upgrages were carried out including E34 M5 brakes front and rear, A Dastek Unichip and Evo 3 short shift kit to keep the gearchange tight and precise. The in period fitted Nakamichi stereo system was also rewired with modern cable and the car has been fitted with perfectly refurbished BMW BBS style 5 cross spoke alloy wheels with nogaro silver centres and highly polised rims.

This car now wants for nothing. It has been fastidiously maintained all of its life and has covered 62,000 miles since it's Hartge spec conversion. It has been the subject of a 5 page feature in May 2011 issue of Total BMW magazine and was also shown on the front cover. A quote from that feature says it all "with perfect paint, sitting just right over those BBS rims, it just takes your breath away."

190 SL Roadster  1960  82,000 miles, finished in silver with cream leather piped blue, navy carpets, navy hood.

This stunning vehicle has recently been the subject of a meticulous restoration, the details of which are featured in the July 2011 issue of Mercedes Enthusiast Magazine, it was also pictured on the front cover. Amazing attention to detail was taken during the resoration, the car was repainted in its original colour of brilliant silver. All chromework was re-plated where necessary, highly detailed throughout including under bonnet which is highly polished, the panel fit, which is so important on these cars is excellent.

The engine and mechanicals were overhauled by 190 SL specialist Brian Gunney approximately 10 years ago and the car runs and drives just as you would expect. The previous owner who commissioned the restoration of this vehicle used it for continental journeys on which the car proved to be totally reliable.

Having had only 3 recorded owners during it's 51 year lifetime it has an extensive history file which includes restoration photographs, copious bills, original beige log book, original German brochure, original Mercedes Benz maintenance book in German with English translation, plus details of previous restoration work.

Inside the car it has an original ivory steering wheel and has never had a stereo fitted thus has the original blanking plate with 190SL script, Alll of the dashboard instrument gauges have been removed and reconditioned so function as they should. A superb example of one of the prettiest Mercedes Benz cars of all time that would truely be a joy to own.

It is in fantastic condition and would be a welcome addition to any collection of the highest calibre.

This car has had only 2 owners from new, both local gentlemen. The first owners tenure lasting 25 years no less, It was always serviced at local Mercedes Benz garages, firstly supplying dealer Castles of Leicester, then laterly Falcon of Loughborough/M-B Loughborough, there are no les that 14 main dealer stamps in the original 'Maintenance Booklet'.
